About Us

Well, we're a small group right now. Basically, by "we," we actually mean "I."

Kris Benson

So, in September 2006, I returned to Maui and began the training. I completed the Emergency First Response Instructor course in October, my Divemaster course was successfully completed in November, then in December, I went on to pursue the Instructor Development Course, or IDC. On December 19, 2006, I completed the PADI Instructor Examination with flying colours. I followed up my training in 2007 with the completion of some specialty course instructor ratings and earned the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) certification.

In summer 2007, I continued on to take the training to become a IDC Staff Instructor, a course that required me to audit another full IDC, along with complete several requirements demonstrating my ability to train instructors. This added certification allows me to independently certify the Assistant Instructor level of dive professional, as well as assist PADI Course Directors with the conduct of the IDC.

Throughout the remainder of 2007 and 2008, I continued my professional development by assisting a course director on several occasions with the conduct of her IDCs and completed several Divers Alert Network (DAN) first-aid instructor courses.

In 2009, I decided to return to Prince George for further education. I enrolled in the Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) programme at UNBC, and graduated in May 2011. During this time, I married my wonderful wife Christen, whom I met when we were both on Maui.

Enough about me... why not tell me something about you? If you're interested in diving, please don't hesitate -- head right over to the contact page and let's get in touch!
